Oh snap! Grub Sprangs!
Colin Vance and I just opened for Frank Fairfield at the Arcata Playhouse. I’ve played shows with Frank a few times now but this was the first time we got him to play some music with us! He’s backing us up here on a version of Blackberry Blossom.
The Striped Pig Stringband with myself on mandolin busting down on an old standard. I suppose that Tommy Jarrell of Toast, North Carolina is probably the source of this tune. I had a buddy who reffered to him affectionately as “The Reverend Jesus Tommy Jarrell.” Make of that what you will.
Here’s a song from Riley Puckett, a blind singer, guitarist, and banjo player from Georgia. I’m playing guitar, mandolin, and three-finger banjo for this song.
